Charity Tax Relief U-Turn

Following protests from charities, Chancellor George Osborne has announced that he has dropped plans to limit relief on charitable giving.

Osborne announced in the Budget in March that Gift Aid donations, that may currently be made and attract tax relief without limit, would be subject to a cap of £50,000 with effect from April 2013.  He has now confirmed that such a cap will no longer apply.
